LOL - Sharing the Southern Hemisphere means that we understand the Aussies and even share some of their ludicrous terminology :)
The visitor to Australia might spend quite a bit of time uttering a puzzled "Say what?" as he/she goes through the day.

I once worked with an Aussie, he was helping us locate a subject, and advised me over the radio, "There's a geezer over by the park, check him out." I wasted a good deal of time watching an innocent elderly man...later I explained the phrase "dude" to our friend from down under.
LL thanks for this heads up, if someone told me to go and "tart myself up" I'd most likely take that a wee bit offensively. If all goes well I'll be doing my final practicum down under, leave in mid January and home around the end of May. I just have a few things to finalize.
