My next door neighbor had her house broken into on Wednesday; they kicked in her front door. I'd have been home the whole time it was happening-- I feel terrible that I didn't notice anything going on.
The house next to hers has also been hit. Burglary's a problem here. :-/
Worked a burglary once where a neighbor called in about the victim's back door being kicked in. We went inside, pointed guns at everyone and brought forth law and order. One guy put up his hands and revealed watches and jewelry on both arms, from wrist to elbow. When he pointed his hands at the cealing he shouted, "We's just here to mow the lawn." There was a table cloth in the center of the floor, filled with stolen property and both men's pockets were filled with coins, etc.
At trial, after I testified to the "mow the lawn" comment, the defense attny. said there was really no burglary because the pair had not yet left the home with the loot. Didn't work. As this was over 20 years ago I'm sure they're out by now.
The black judge likely knew bullshit when he heard it from a 'brother'.
We had a black lady that ran HR. I had to fire a black police officer on probation, who screwed up by the numbers. Her verdict, "Fire his black ass, he just a nigger with a job."
This blog has many elements and depending on your interests, may pique your imagination...or not. I urge you to be unreasonable. Reasonable people adapt themselves to the world. The unreasonable persist in trying to adapt the world to themselves, therefore all progress depends on unreasonable people. The more unreasonable you are, the more likely you are to enjoy this blog. All men dream, but not equally.
If you're a socialist or a Marxist, you'll find that I poke fun at your absurd notions of "good government" on a regular basis. So you might not wish to follow this blog because you'll be offended.
John Locke said, "One unerring mark of the love of truth is not entertaining any proposition with greater assurance than the proofs it is built upon will warrant." I like what Locke said. We can't theorize without adequate information because when we do we inevitably twist facts to suit theories rather than theories to suit facts. In this blog and in my life, I try to maintain this perspective.
Either you believe in our essential spark of shared divinity, or you succumb to our human insecurity. Either way your conscience lets you slice it, the main thing is to earnestly do what is right at the time.
Today, I balance work and play as much as anyone can. All things remaining equal, play is more important. Life is short - it's important to make every day count for something, if only to yourself.
I'm a former tinker/tailor/soldier/sailor who has now decided that maybe it really wasn't all done for nothing.

I like both of those.

Sometimes the locked door should remain locked. It's a lesson that burglars don't always grasp, until they're pushing up daisies.

"We just here"
I'm guessing that the perpetrator was an 'inner city person', who had been victimized by the White Man's Justice all of his life...
Yes, they blamed their trouble - multiple felonies, etc. - on awful treatment by the white majority. The black judge didn't seem convinced.
