Headlines & Cash

Sometimes people doing business need to know you have the ability to pay. In this case $500,000.00 in US Currency and the headlines from the daily paper.

The Clock

We run many races in life. Sometimes we run toward things. Other times we run away from them. We can never run from the clock. It's the cruelest of enemies, and in another sense, the kindest of friends. The world only gives us two gifts -- only two. Time and the ability to choose how to spend it. I advise my children to spend their time well because you can't call back a single second or a single breath.

The best of life is those moments we spend together with those we love. The rest is more or less a waste of time.

At least that's how I see it, and it's MY  blog.

Women's Rights in Paradise

Iranian women in full Burquas - A paradise for women
where clothing hasn't been out of style since 700 AD.

In a land where Barbie Dolls are forbidden for their "unwholesome flexibility" and certain fruits and vegetables must not be displayed in public because of their resemblance to sexual organs, a place declared PARADISE by religious leaders of Shiia Islam, where you may remain pure. Consider relocation to Iran, and bring fragrance - because you know that a lady walking around under a black tent all day in the summer will need all the 'masking' she can find.

Socialism

"The biggest problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."
--Margaret Thatcher

"The reason this country continues to drift toward socialism and big nanny government is because too many people vote in the expectation of getting something for nothing, not because they have a concern for what's good of the country."
-- Lyn Nofziger

"The New Deal is plainly an attempt to achieve a working socialism and avert a social collapse in America; it is extraordinarily parallel to the successive 'policies' and 'plans' of the Russian experiment. Americans shirk the word socialism, but what else can one call it?"
-- H. G. Wells

"The function of socialism is to raise suffering to a higher level."
-- Norman Mailer

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."
-- Winston Churchill

"Socialism is simply Communnisim for people without the testosterone to man the barricades."
 --Gary North

"No one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions; he had money as well."
-- Margaret Thatcher

Writing

Creative writing is a joy, a compulsion, an expression of art through cunningly implanting images on the written page that blossom to life in your mind as you read. It's a movie inside your head. As with all art, much of the pleasure the artist/writer derives is from the enjoyment found by those who view it.

Imagination and vivid images fill in whatever gaps art fails to fill. At times I am a delusional fool, at times the world seems to implode in on itself, and I find fulfillment in writing about both of those things, which clearly are illusions.
