Flattening a Rodent

Sure, you can use the tire of a car, but there is little art there besides the blood splatter patterns.

They're snake food.

The best & most humane way to flatten those things is to repeatedly hard tap them with a framing hammer...

Takes too long to do that. I demand the instant gratification that the sledge hammer brings. That, or feed it to the snake.

Snakes are not fast in their eating. However, it's fun to taunt a poisonous snake with a rodent in its jaws because it can't do anything but be ticked off at you.

Brighid - I thought that you'd be compassionate toward rodents. When you think about it, they're beloved of the Federal Government because so much land is preserved so that this rodent or that can thrive.

What me! You got the wrong Cowgirl if you think I like the Feds or rodents (another form of Fed). Mismanagement of Fed lands, that shouldn't be federal lands to begin with, has been a corner stone of the American west.
