Celebration

My daughter Heather (25), a blogger, amateur photographer and now baccalaureate landed a new executive position. As you all will recognize, this calls for a party! The party goers decided that they want to go to Fleming's Steak House
As father of the brood, it falls me to pay the bill, which I am proud to do.  I asked Heather what's the first thing she'll buy with her new found salary.

She thinks that a new BMW would be the way to go...

As I recall, I didn't have money burning a hole in my pocket then, nor was I hungry for a steak...

The tenor of "celebrations" now with grandchildren in the family have taken the expensive restaurant banquets off the negotiating table. It's a hamburger at grandpa's house -- until the little ones get older and can be baby-sat long enough to go back on the fancy food circuit.

Of course, this doesn't apply to celebrations sans children with children of their own...

Though I have been to Fleming's Steak House many times, I don't recall enjoying a meal more. It is my favorite place to eat a steak - but this meal really topped the list of great meals. Maybe it was because we were celebrating TWO new jobs (Heather & Emilie) both have new jobs -- yes, Shar is now paying Emilie.

Congrats Heather, way to go! That BMW looks pretty tempting!

LL you are such a wonderful father, I only wish that my dad was here to help me celebrate when I receive my degree. I'm sure that he's going to be smiling down on me as is my mother. :-)

Heather -
Just think, you get to support your dad in his old age. Like . . . next week.
