Timeless Tunes

There is a reason why classics are classic. This song by Tammy Wynette, first released in 1975, has proved to be timeless because it speaks to the human condition:

Sometimes its hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times
Doing things that you don't understand
But if you love him you'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh be proud of him
'Cause after all he's just a man
Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And tell the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man

You can't fault Tammy Wynette's loyalty, that's for sure.

LL is there a reason Stand By Your Man is larger and bolded? Just askin'. And I tried to stand by my man.. men, whatever, but I guess I couldn't stand tall enough...teach me to marry tall men eh? ;-)

I like this song, used to love it but after two failed marriages I just like it now.

Have yourself a wonderful day, it's great to see you again here!

Opus - Tammy Wynette clearly sent a message to the world.

WoFat - Precisely

Darlin - Being a man, I want a woman to stand by me. That's reason enough for large bold letters...
