Surviving Sumer

It's a hot day in Southern California and as the mercury rises you can either run for the air conditioned house or jump in the pool.

Griffin (5 months old) above and below has the solution to the problem. Sit poolside, listen to the radio and sip that most delicious of all baby foods, milk. Or when it gets too daunting, take a plunge!

It's hard to believe that Griffin has grown so much already! He sure is a cutie!

I'm almost envious of the little guy, poolside at 5 months and here I've been waiting .... hmmm a few years, and still have not gotten a pool! After all I'd be able to use a pool for about two months of the year, a good year that is! lol

Cute kid. Must run in the family.

We had a Summer's day here also; 60 degrees this morning, 80 in the afternoon. Yeah.

What a sweet smile he has. Is he 5 months already? Where has the time gone? Has he cut any toofies yet?

Darlin, nice new piccy of you. Very attractive.

Why thank you Opus. I really want to go and blast that lady on the Transgender blog here! Did you see what that woman said? Some people are so full of rage! Glad I'm not one of them! lol

I'm not going to touch that one though, LL's a big boy and I can't wait to read how he deals with this one! lol

Darlin - we are using the pool this summer but even though the weather here is nice, it's not used all that much in other seasons.

Dad- Just noticed that your blog entry has a typo... "Sumer"

Griffin will actually be 6 months on the 28th! Time has flown by! And no he has not cut any teeth yet...I wish! He has been teething for a few months now. It has gotten worse, so I am hoping it happens soon!

Darlin, I give you points for being on top of things. Good find, girl! I'm sure LL can hold his own against all comers.

And how long is your summer there? Ten months? lol
Griffin will be swimming in competitions by the time he's five! And kicking butt no doubt!

Darlin, I responded to Jessie/Jessica in the best way I could. Thanks for the input on that posting.

The summer (by Canadian standards) is 12 months long here. Cold is defined by an evening where it's too chilly to wear a t-shirt at midnight.

I heat the pool if anybody wants to swim and it raises it from chilly to "bath water" warm. So you can swim here all year comfortably. As the days grow shorter there is less sunlight where you would want to bask in the sun and tan. While lamentable, you can't change the laws of physics simply to please the sun-worshipers.

Griffin loves the water and loves to "swim". He splashes and kicks his little feet.

We wouldn't have a pool if we had to chip the ice in the winter...

But what's wrong with chipping ice in the winter? We do it all the time... for ice fishing!

I think I'm sold, California here I come!

I'm not opposed to VISITING ice or snow. I think it's delightful to take a weekend and delight in the snow and the bitter cold, and then return to the beach where it's sunny and I can wear shorts and a t-shirt without fear of frostbite.

You'll be welcome in California.
