Weekend Jaunt

Emilie and I took off this morning to run Cleghorn Road (about 40 minutes from home) over the summit and down into Lake Silverwood. I found that MANY of the by-passes that we used to enjoy for their degree of difficulty were closed by the Federal Government. It's annoying in the extreme that they put their snouts into every possible aspect of our lives.

Emilie posed for a picture above Lake Silverwood.

Lovely girl. Must take after her mother.

Looks like a fun time. Beware of snakes.

Your daughter is stunningly beautiful... is this one of the little girls who used to sing boot camp songs?

And seriously, what is wrong with the government? I suppose if they can't tax it then take it away... bastards!

Why do you think the Feds are controlling travel in this way?

Opus, their philosophy is that anyone who drives a 4x4 is evil. These by-pass roads (too bad you never had the opportunity to ride on them) are simply difficult roads, not vast erosion, trashing pristine wilderness. So when they destroy them, the 4x4's no longer come and the tree huggers go have a beer and congratulate themselves.

Darlin: It's the LITTLEST girl who used to sing military running songs (Jody Calls).

Aren't you even the least bit glad the government thinks you are a dumbass and need their guidance?

Yeah! Me either.

Do you still sing the songs together for old times sake? :-)

Darlin- Oh, yes!
