I wish that I was making this stuff up. I'm quoting a New York Post story in substance. It's the cover story today at www.nypost.com and though I thought it might be an April Fool's Joke, it's unfortunately not.
President Barack Obama nominated Harold Koh to be the US State Department's Legal Advisor. According to Koh (poised to replace John Paul Stevens in the Supreme Court when he steps down), judges should interpret the Constitution according to other nation's legal norms. By extension, Sharia law could apply to disputes in US courts.
